Protect the battery from strong impacts or shocks
When not in use, a battery has effect of auto-discharge on a daily basis sometimes up to 0.5-1%. This rate of discharge depends on the weather. For information you can apply following data sheet:

27°C

-0,0025 Sp. Gr per day

0°C

-0,001 Sp. Gr per day

-18°C

-0,0003 Sp. Gr per day

If a new battery becomes unserviceable within a few days after its installation it may be due by one or more of following reasons:
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
An incorrect charge
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
A short circuit in the electrical system or battery terminals are dirty or not properly connected
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Electrical capacity of the battery is insufficient for the size of the vehicle (see also capacity of the battery is not at its correct level!)
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
The battery has been inadequately activated, dissipating its electrochemical strength
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
The battery presents a sulfating effect due to time between activation (acid filled in) and first charging need to completely activate electrochemical properties
When the battery has been left for a considerable amount of time in a discharged condition, some discoloration with white lead sulfate crystalline deposits may appear on plates.
Discoloration also appears as a result of the air contact due to low electrolyte level, or when a new battery has been filled with acid and stored without being charged. This phenomenon is called sulphation. When every plate has been sulfated, the activity of the affected area is permanently impaired, and the battery may not be restored to its original capacity.
Battery capacity is greatly reduced by cold since it has a decided numbing effect on the electrochemical action
The basic duty of a battery is to start of engine. Battery must “crank”, or rotate crankshaft at the same time it maintains sufficient voltage to activate ignition system until the engine fires and maintains constant rotations (runs) . Since it is more difficult for a battery to deliver power when it is cold, the engine will require more power to turn it over during winter seasons.
For your information, comparison between power delivered by battery at several T (°C)  andpower required by engine in following table:

Fulbat does not handle warranty issues directly. Normally distributors decide warranty period and handle all claims. By default our batteries warranty is gave 6 months free replacement, provided the customer has dated proof of purchase.
In order to take in charge a claim, certified Fulbat dealer has to proceed with an appropriate test and certified quality claim.
LITHIUM STARTER BATTERY
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Check the battery state before installation. An initial charge is always recommended (especially when yellow or red LED light turns on after pressing the button charge indicator).
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Have a professional the electrical system of your motorcycle tested to ensure it functions properly before installation. You’ll avoid any overcharging.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
The vehicles electrical system needs to be limited in voltage between 14-15v when charging :
  • The battery can’t be full charged if the charging voltage is less than 14V.
  • The battery would be damaged if the charging voltage exceeds 15V.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Only use Lithium batteries on new bikes. For vehicles built before the mid-1990’s with generators and/or with external voltage regulators, you must change the voltage regulator to a new modern electronic type as overcharge will damage the battery.
Lithium batteries have a reduced starting capacity during cold weather (below <0°C).
If this results in the incapability to start the engine there are a few wayq to deal with this:
  • 1. Connect a Lithium compatible charger for 30 seconds.
  • 2. Turn on the lights for 1-2 minutes before starting (to warm-up the battery).
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Never charge a Fulbat lithium battery with a lead acid charger including a desulfation program. Irreversible damage to the battery will occur.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Never maintain the lithium battery during a long period. Lithium batteries don’t support a trickle-charge in the way a lead-acid battery does.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Never charge the battery with a high current than 2C (2C corresponds to 2 x the battery capacity). This is the MAX charging current accepted.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
To maximize the battery lifespan, ensure that the charging time doesn’t exceed 30 minutes while charging at the maximum current even if the battery is completely discharged.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
The battery should be stored with 70% state of charge max (approx.).
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
During storage, the lithium battery should be charged once every six months.
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
We recommend you to make periodically a 30 minutes charge (every two months).
puce-verte-starter-battery-features-motorsport-lawn-garden-2
Check during storage regularly the voltage and in case it would drop below 12.4V, recharge as described on the charging instructions.
INDUSTRIAL BATTERY
cardio-industrial-battery
The stationary batteries take over in case of electrical system failure. Always in stand-by, these back-up batteries are discharged occasionally and do not require any maintenance. Stationary batteries are used in many applications: Security, Telecommunication, UPS, Medical devices
cardio-industrial-battery
Cyclic batteries are external source of energy that enable to support many charge and discharge cycles (more or less deep, depending on the technology – AGM, GEL, Lithium). Cyclic batteries are used in many applications : Small mobility (golf caddy, electric wheelchair…) Energy storage (solar, wind) Leisure (marine, camping-car)

In the case of parallel connections, you need 2 or more batteries. Fulbat batteries have to be connected together by the following way : The positive terminals of each battery are linked together and the same for negative terminals. This enables to increase the battery capacity (Ah), but battery voltage stays the same.

For example: If you have two 12V 100Ah batteries with parallel connections, the battery capacity (Ah) increased to 200Ah, but the voltage stays the same (12V), enabling to get a battery system of 12V 200Ah.

In the case of series connections, you need 2 or more batteries. Fulbat batteries have to be connected by the following way : the positive terminal of one battery is linked to the negative terminal from another battery, until the desired voltage is achieved. This enables to increase the voltage total (V), but the capacity stays the same.

For example: If you have two 12V 100Ah batteries connected in series and that allows to get a battery system of 24V 100Ah. However, the battery capacity stays the same (100Ah).

Reminder : It’s important to connect in series or parallel only batteries with the same voltage, capacity rating and with the same date code. If you don’t follow our instructions, you’ll damage batteries.

When charging batteries in series, you need to utilize a charger that matches the system voltage. We recommend you charge each battery individually, with a multi-bank charger, avoiding imbalance between batteries.
